John Diehl For Missouri State Representative - Home

The single, most important issue facing the State of Missouri in 2010 is the economy. Without keeping and attracting businesses that provide good paying jobs:

  1. We can’t fund our schools properly,
  2. We won’t see a turnaround in the housing market,
  3. We can’t afford to expand accessible healthcare for those who need it most,
  4. We won’t be able to invest in reliable, alternative energy resources, and
  5. We will continue to see holes in the “safety net” for seniors, children, and the disabled.

It has never been more clear that the challenges we face in state government and in every citizen’s pocketbook is tied to bettering the financial fortunes of Missouri. That’s why I want to be your State Representative.

As a business attorney, I helped bring nearly $500 million in new business construction to St. Louis County. These projects mean thousands of temporary and permanent jobs in our communities. They feed families, fill gas tanks, and pay taxes for our schools and emergency services.

As a former alderman and president of the board of Town & Country, I understand we need to maintain quality, vital services without raising taxes and keeping within a balanced budget. What we need isn’t bigger government. What we need is smarter government.

As a parent of three children, I know the economy affects us all—even those with established jobs. We are all on a budget and it is being stretched in every possible way. No one and no business is immune.

To succeed in a global economy, St. Louis County and the State of Missouri must put their shoulders to the wheel and shovels in the ground. I will be sharing my thoughts with you in the coming weeks. Together, we will build a better Missouri from the ground up.

Sincerely,

John
