HOW I SEE IT...

In our current political climate, there tends to be a lot of boasting about what is important for our communities and our families and we all have our “hot button” about what needs to be done. From my perspective, having served in both professional and public service capacities, the greatest single challenge facing us all is the economy in the State of Missouri and the 87th District.

This is How I See It....

THE ECONOMY
The Foundation of Good Economic Development is based on...

A Quality Education.
Our public schools must provide our children with a competitive edge over students from other states and countries. Without a strong education, we cannot begin to compete in a global economy.

Simplify the Regulatory Process.
Businesses will not remain or relocate to Missouri when the bureaucratic policies of state and local governments are an impediment to growth and entrepreneurship. We must simplify our tax code to make Missouri competitive with our neighboring states and financially attractive to new business, new ideas, and a well-educated professional work force.

Attract New Industries
The jobs of tomorrow that will fuel our state economy need to be brought to our communities instead of looking to the Sunbelt states or the east and west coasts. Life sciences, biotechnology, electronics, financial services, and health care are just some of the disciplines that we need to attract to remain viable.

Infrastructure
We must plan for future improvements to our present infrastructure that will leverage and encourage economic growth, more jobs, and our future economy.

PROPERTY TAXES

Our state’s foundation must be a sound fiscal base that protects us from excessive taxation and big government spending. The current system of assessing property tax is flawed, regressive, and unfair. More taxation is not the answer to better services ─ better management of our present tax dollar is the answer.

  • Better Schools...
  • Better Jobs...
  • Better Communities...
A Better Missouri.
